Federal Polytechnic Ukana is a premier tertiary institution located in Ukana, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Established to provide higher education in various technical and vocational fields, the institution aims to equip students with the skills necessary for professional and technical careers.

The polytechnic offers a wide range of National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs across various disciplines such as engineering, sciences, business studies, and technology. Operating under the guidelines of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Federal Polytechnic Ukana ensures that its curricula and standards are aligned with national educational policies.

Library

Federal Polytechnic Library, Ukana was established in June 2014 to serve the information needs of the Polytechnic in achieving its mission of developing manpower with skills for excellence and self-reliance. Located centrally in the annex campus, the library offers a welcoming and stimulating environment for learning and research, providing an accessible user-friendly environment for effective information service delivery.

Resources

The library’s collection includes printed materials, electronic resources, audio-visuals, digitized, rare books, and archival resources relevant to the different schools.

E-Library Services

The e-library unit offers electronic information resources to complement the print resources, impacting the quality of research, teaching, and learning. It provides digital resources in CDs, e-books, and e-journals, with facilities for downloading and printing information from reputable databases. The unit also offers internet services, resource sharing, Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI), Current Awareness Services (CAS), and information literacy on using electronic resources.

Main Library

Federal Polytechnic Ukana plans to operate a two-campus library system. Aside from the annex campus library, a main library at the main campus is near completion. Located adjacent to the administrative building block, the main library is expected to accommodate more than 450 readers at a time.
