Historical Background

Established on April 23, 1990, under the old Oyo State, the university was initially known as Oyo State University of Technology, Ogbomoso (OSUTECH). Following the creation of Osun State from the old Oyo State in 1991, the university was renamed Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH). For many years, LAUTECH was jointly owned by Oyo and Osun States until November 20, 2020, when it became solely owned by Oyo State through a mutual agreement between the two states.
