Welcome to Lagos City Polytechnic

Lagos City Polytechnic, the first private polytechnic in Nigeria, is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education and affiliated with Southwestern University. We offer both National and Higher National Diploma programs on full-time and part-time bases.

Admission Policy

We welcome all students, regardless of race, religion, nationality, or background. Admission is provisional and subject to review.

Admission Criteria

National Diploma (ND)

  • Requirements: Four relevant credits in WASC/GCE O’Level/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB, or equivalent qualifications from an accredited polytechnic.
  • Duration: Two years (full-time) or three years (part-time).

Higher National Diploma (HND)

  • Requirements: National Diploma in a relevant field plus one year of post-ND industrial experience.
  • Duration: Two years (full-time) or three years (part-time).

Preliminary National Diploma (Pre-ND)

  • Requirements: Four passes in relevant subjects in WASC/GCE O’Level/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB.
  • Duration: One year (full-time).

Specific Admission Requirements

Pre-ND

  • Courses: Accountancy, Banking & Finance, Business Studies, Secretarial Studies
  • Requirements: Four passes in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics.

ND

  • Courses: Accountancy, Banking Finance, Business Studies
  • Requirements: Four credits in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics.
